Celebrating Excellence: Five BVIS HCMC Teachers Completed their Master’s Degree at King’s College London
We are delighted to congratulate five outstanding members of our teaching team on the successful completion of their Master of Arts in International Education with King’s College London, one of the world’s top universities (ranked among the top 10 in the UK and top 40 worldwide).
This achievement is not only a proud personal milestone but also a reflection of BVIS’s enduring commitment to supporting our teachers on their journey of lifelong learning and professional development on a global scale.

One of the most distinguished opportunities is the Master’s programme at King’s College London – a specialised course in curriculum design, created exclusively for Nord Anglia Education and offered each year to a select group of teachers across the organisation.
As part of this rigorous programme, BVIS teachers have explored and debated pioneering issues shaping the future of international schools worldwide, while deepening both their knowledge and classroom practice at BVIS. Their research has highlighted the essential role of soft skills, resilience, and intercultural understanding in preparing students not only for academic success but also to grow into confident, responsible global citizens.
Balancing full-time teaching with postgraduate study is no easy task. For some, this meant late-night research and study; for others, it meant juggling family commitments, including the challenges of maternity leave and caring for a newborn.
As Mr George Shoesmith, Head of Science reflected:
“It reminded me that as teachers, it is often the little things we do – the encouragement, the stories, the soft skills we model – that make the biggest difference in shaping young adults.”
Ms Chrissy Corachea – F2 Teacher added:
“I was particularly motivated to step outside my comfort zone and investigate a topic I knew less about.”
We are incredibly proud of Katie-Ann, Rob, Chrissy, Nathan, and George for this remarkable achievement. Their success enriches our classrooms, strengthens our community, and ensures that BVIS HCMC students continue to benefit from the very best of international teaching practice.
Mr. Nathan applies his research focus from his Master’s in International Education at King’s College London directly into his teaching, enriching the learning experience of our Sixth Form students
